Sudanese supermodel Alek Wek’s niece Ataui Deng has been found 12 days after she disappeared.
Deng vanished on 6 August after she was seen at a nightclub in New York, but hours after the search for her became public on Monday the 22 year old was found at a New York hospital in good health.
No details surrounding her hospitalization have been released.
Deng’s friend, celebrity chef Roble Ali, has taken to Instagram.com to assure fans and friends of the African beauty that she’s OK.
Ali writes, “I am very happy to report that Ataui has been found. She is safe and sound. I want to thank all of our friends and followers and especially the NYPD (New York Police Department) for their swift and dedicated response.”
Deng is a Sudanese refugee who moved to the U.S. when she was 12. She signed with Trump Models four years later and has since walked the runway for acclaimed designers such as the late L’Wren Scott, Proenza Schouler and Zac Posen.
