Alec Baldwin has lashed out at New York City cops after he was taken into custody for riding his bicycle the wrong way up Fifth Avenue on Tuesday morning.
The actor was served with summons for riding illegally and disorderly conduct, reportedly for rowing with officers after they asked to see identification he didn’t have.
Baldwin was handcuffed and taken to the NYPD station house on 21st Street.
Upon returning home hours later, the former 30 Rock star took to Twitter.com to blast the police department, writing, “New York City is a mismanaged carnival of stupidity that is desperate for revenue and anxious to criminalize behavior once thought benign.”
He also took aim at the paparazzi photographers, who had gathered outside his apartment building following the drama, tweeting, “Photographers outside my home once again terrified my daughter and nearly hit her. Police did nothing.”
