Bee Gees star Barry Gibb is set to be feted at the upcoming Nordoff Robbins O2 Silver Clef Awards in Britain in honor of his lengthy career.
The singer will be the recipient of the lifetime achievement award at the London prizegiving, which is staged to raise money for the charity’s scheme to provide music therapy to vulnerable adults and children across the U.K.
Gibb, who has produced songs for artists including Barbra Streisand and Diana Ross during his career, is overjoyed with the accolade as he is a fan of the organisation’s work.
He says, “Having had music play such an important role in my own life for over 50 years I can truly appreciate the work Nordoff Robbins do, using music to transform other people’s lives.”
The Bee Gees picked up a special achievement prize at the awards in 1993, and Gibb will receive his honor at the ceremony on 28 June.
