Stone Roses frontman Ian Brown has been banned from driving for three months after he was caught speeding.
The British rocker was disqualified on Thursday after a judge ruled he went “off the scale” by driving 93 miles per hour (150 kilometres per hour) in Stafford, England last year.

District Judge David Taylor told him, “Speed limits are not imposed on a motorway unless there are very good reasons. Those reasons are almost always concerning public safety.”

Brown was also fined $1,440 and ordered to pay $1,600 in costs.

The punishment comes just a month after the star escaped a driving ban for doing 105 miles per hour (168 kilometres per hour) last April.

His lawyer had argued that Brown needed to drive to rehearsals for the Stone Roses’ comeback tour and to visit his 11-year-old son in London.
