Filmmaker Bryan Singer has filed a motion for a summary judgment in a sexual assault case brought against him in April.
Singer is asking the judge to award him all fees and costs associated with Michael Egan’s initial filing, in which the plaintiff claims he was attacked by the X-Men: Days of Future Past director at a party in Hawaii when he was a minor in the late 1990s.
The legal papers cited insufficient evidence of “specific facts showing that there is a genuine issue for trial” and were filed in a court in Hawaii on Thursday. The judge overseeing the case has set a hearing for 4 August.
The latest court request was filed days after Singer asked to have the civil suit dismissed.
He is also facing a separate lawsuit from an unnamed accuser over allegations he previously had sex with a 17 year old at a Superman-themed party at a London hotel.
