Chris Brown has apologized to fans for missing a show in Chicago, Illinois.
The troubled singer walked free from jail on 2 June after spending more than two months behind bars for violating a court order relating to his conviction for assaulting ex-girlfriend Rihanna in 2009.
He had been due to perform at the B96 Radio Summer Bash in Chicago on Saturday, alongside stars including Jennifer Lopez and Pitbull, but pulled out after confirming he was unable to attend.
In a message posted on Twitter.com on Tuesday night, directed at the radio station behind the concert, he writes, “#Chicago! Sorry I can’t be with you @B96Radio #SummerBash this Saturday. Have fun everybody & I’ll see you soon! (sic) ”
Representatives for the station write in a reply to Brown’s message, “Chris Brown We support you and can’t wait till you get back to #Chicago to kick it with @B96Radio. Be good #Breezy! (sic).”
