Actor Chris Kattan has been charged with driving under the influence of drugs following his arrest in early February.
The former Saturday Night Live comedian was pulled over by cops in the San Fernando Valley region of California after they received a report suggesting his vehicle had been “weaving all over the roadway” before striking another car.
On Friday, prosecutors filed the DUI charge against the actor and he is due to appear in court on Monday, according to TMZ.com.
If convicted, he could face up to six months behind bars and a $1,000 fine.
Kattan spoke out shortly after he was released from jail and blamed exhaustion for his erratic behavior.
Taking to his Twitter.com page, he wrote, “I just got back from a 15hr (hour) flight after touring out of the country. I was exhausted. The Police were so kind. I’m lucky nobody was hurt.”
