Jeff Conaway’s representative is convinced the actor ended up in intensive care because the cocktail of pills he was taking prevented him from seeking help as soon as he fell ill.
The Grease star was was found unconscious on 11 May and hospitalized in California amid reports he had suffered a drug overdose.

It later emerged the actor, who has battled drug addiction in the past, had been struck down with pneumonia and sepsis, a potentially fatal blood poisoning caused by a bacterial infection.

Conaway remains in a critical condition in hospital, and is showing little improvement, according to his spokesman Phil Brock.

He tells E! News, “He is still unconscious, ventilated and intubated (a plastic tube placed into his windpipe to help him breathe). No improvement at all today.”

Brock also reveals he is convinced Conaway’s prescription medications may have actually worsened his health crisis, adding, “He was found unconscious with pain killers and cold medicine in his system to my knowledge… My assumption that the combination of pain killers and cold medicine led to his not knowing how seriously ill he was.

“If he was not taking any medicine, he wouldn’t have passed out and would have gone to a doctor or a hospital on his own. If you have been an addict, any medicine is too much, so it can be deduced that it’s some type of O.D. (overdose)”.
