Jailed Welsh rocker Ian Watkins has filed an appeal against the length of his 35-year sentence for a string of sickening child sex offenses.
The former Lostprophets frontman was placed behind bars in December after pleading guilty to 13 crimes, including the attempted rape of a baby, and he must serve two thirds of the custodial term of 29 years before he can apply for parole.
However, Watkins’ lawyer is now challenging the sentence and he lodged a petition at the Court of Appeal in Wales on Tuesday.
Watkins was placed on trial alongside two female co-defendants, the mothers of his victims. The 21 and 24 year old, who cannot be named for legal reasons, also confessed to a number of offenses and were jailed for 17 years and 14 years respectively.
