Sheryl Crow decided to adopt after re-evaluating her life following the break-up of her relationship with Lance Armstrong.
The singer split from the cyclist in 2006 after three years together and shortly afterwards she was diagnosed with breast cancer.

Crow was given the all-clear from the disease following radiation therapy in 2006, and after overcoming the illness the star announced she would be adopting son Wyatt in 2007.

Now the All I Wanna Do hitmaker has revealed she decided to become a parent because she wasn’t happy with the path her life was taking.

She says, “I’d just been through a pretty painful break-up where there were kids involved, and I’d also been through breast cancer treatment. After that, I felt an acute sense of urgency about how I wanted my life to feel. Since I wasn’t married, my idea of what the picture was supposed to look like no longer served any great purpose.”

Crow went on to adopt a second baby son, Levi, earlier this year.
