Former teen idol David Cassidy has been charged with driving under the influence of alcohol (DUI) following an arrest last month.
The Partridge Family star was taken into custody on 10 January, after Los Angeles police officers pulled him over for making an illegal turn and smelled alcohol on his breath.
Cassidy failed a sobriety test and was reportedly found to have a blood alcohol level of more than twice the legal limit.
On Tuesday, the musician was formally charged with one count of driving under the influence of alcohol, according to TMZ.com.
This marks the third time Cassidy has been booked for drink driving offenses. In 2011, he pleaded no contest after he was arrested for driving while drunk in Florida, and he had his license suspended for six months and was put on a year’s probation.
In 2013, he was stopped and subsequently failed a field sobriety test in New York, and was charged with a felony driving while intoxicated as a result of his previous arrest.
