A judge in Florida has thrown out a $100 million lawsuit against Elle Macpherson’s husband over a helicopter crash which killed his best friend.
Jeff Soffer, who married the supermodel last year, narrowly cheated death in the horrifying 2012 accident and he was later sued by his pal Lance Valdez’s widow Daria over allegations the businessman, who does not have a helicopter flying licence, was at the controls when the aircraft went down.
Daria filed a $100 million wrongful death lawsuit against Soffer, but a judge in Florida threw out the case on Monday, according to the New York Post.
Soffer’s attorney, Bob Martinez, says in a statement, “We are very pleased by the court’s decision to dismiss the case. As we have said from the outset, this was a frivolous case filled with baseless accusations intended solely to generate headlines.”
