Frances Mcdormand will be honored for her career achievements at the Venice Film Festival in Italy in September.
The Fargo actress will receive the Persol Tribute to Visionary Talent Award ahead of a screening of her upcoming TV mini-series Olive Kitteridge on 1 September.
Festival director Alberto Barbera says, “Thanks to her long-standing experience in theater, film and TV, dedicated to the search for truth, the career of Frances McDormand is not only that of an extraordinary actress but also reflects her consistent vision of art and of the world that is often in positive and aware contrast with today’s prevailing value system.”
The Venice Film Festival runs from 27 August until 6 September. The TV series will hit screens in November.
