Veteran British comedian Freddie Starr has been arrested for a second time by officers investigating the Jimmy Savile sex abuse scandal.
The TV star was taken into custody and quizzed over new sexual offense allegations on Wednesday – five months after his previous arrest in November.
Starr is one of several well known British celebrities who have been questioned as part of Operation Yewtree, which was sparked by a flood of accusations of abuse against Savile following his death in 2012.
The investigation has been split into three parts – the allegations against Savile, allegations against Savile and others, and those against others. Starr’s first arrest over claims he groped a 14-year-old girl were linked to Savile, the latest arrest stems from the investigation into other alleged offenses, according to reports.
Starr has vehemently denied any wrongdoing.
