Executives at a French TV station have issued an apology after they accidentally broadcast hardcore sex scenes from Lars Von Trier’s erotic epic Nymphomaniac.
The mistake happened during coverage of the Berlin International Film Festival in Germany on news station I-tele when clips from the film, starring Shia LaBeouf, were shown as part of a report on the movie’s festival debut.
The clips, which were broadcast on Monday afternoon, showed explicit footage including a scene involving oral sex.
Bosses at the TV channel have apologized for the mistake, blaming it on a production error, according to Puremedias.com, but they could face a potential investigation by French broadcasting watchdog the Conseil Superieur de l’Audiovisuel.
