Oscar-winning movie Frozen has officially become the highest-grossing animated film of all time, grossing $1.07 billion to date worldwide.
The family film, which features characters voiced by Kristen Bell and Idina Menzel, surpassed Toy Story 3′s $1.06 billion haul to take the title, and enter the top 10 list of the biggest global blockbusters in cinema history, bumping Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man’s Chest from 10th place.
Frozen is now likely to overtake The Dark Knight Rises, which sits at nine with $1.08 billion, as it is still proving to be box office gold in the Far East, where it just opened in Japan, its final market, in late March.
