Lady Gaga brought traffic to a standstill on Monday as she filmed footage for her new TV special on the streets of New York, prompting police to step in to control the huge crowds of fans.
The pop superstar, dressed in little more than a leather jacket and tights, had cameras following her as she and her father Joe stopped by a deli in downtown Manhattan as part of her forthcoming concert show for cable channel HBO.

But her presence sparked a frenzy among devotees who had flocked to the area to catch a glimpse of their idol, and cops were called to the scene to take charge of the commotion, reports HollyScoop.com.

Gaga’s outing occurred hours before she was due to take the stage at Madison Square Garden on Monday for the first of two nights at the fabled venue, which will be shot by HBO for the upcoming special.
