Blonding can be tricky, especially with on-scalp applications.

As Holly’s hairstyle shows, inconsistent application or processing time can leave uneven tones throughout hair that show up as yellow or gold banding.

My biggest tip if you’re going for this look is to be sure you’re visiting a seasoned colorist who pays close attention to their work and  processing time as well as the condition of your hair.

The other thing to remember with blonding is to be consistent with your salon visits, and your service provider.

Moving from stylist to stylist can create inconsistent color results.  Different stylists may use different blonding techniques and you’ll want to avoid what I call color-clashing.
