Organizers of Britain’s fabled Glastonbury music festival have warned fans not to expect an Oasis reunion at this year’s event following growing rumors of a surprise comeback.
Singer Liam Gallagher prompted wild speculation about a reunion gig at Glastonbury this summer by posting the band’s name on his Twitter.com page on Thursday almost five years after a bust-up with his brother Noel destroyed the group.
Talk of a surprise Oasis set at Glastonbury in June grew and it even prompted a number of British bookmakers to suspend betting on the comeback, but now festival bosses have spoken out to dismiss the rumors.
Emily Eavis, daughter of the festival’s founder Michael Eavis, writes in a post on her Twitter.com page, “Oasis aren’t playing this year.”
