Actress/singer Hilary Duff has thanked fans for their support after announcing her split from husband Mike Comrie.
The Cheaper by the Dozen star revealed on Friday that she had parted ways with the retired ice hockey player after more than three years of marriage.
In a statement, Duff’s representative claimed the former couple would remain close for the sake of its son Luca, who turns two in March, and the 26 year old proved the break-up really was amicable after reaching out to devotees on Twitter.com – with Comrie by her side.
In a Twitter post on Friday evening, she wrote, “Mike and I are sitting here,we are so appreciative for all of your kindness& well wishes. Not an easy day but we’re getting thru (sic) it together”.
A report on Eonline.com suggests Duff and Comrie simply drifted apart, despite attempting to salvage their relationship by attending couple’s therapy.
The pair wed in August, 2010 after three years of dating.
