Country star Jo Dee Messina has pulled out of a planned gig in Nashville, Tennessee on Tuesday after suffering a death in her family.
The singer, 43, has yet to share details about the sad news, but the incident has prompted Messina to cancel her concert commitment so she can mourn the loss of her relative.
A message posted on her official website reads: “We regret to inform you that due to a death in Jo Dee’s family, we’re postponing the Renegade Radio Nashville show, originally scheduled for August 12, 2014.
“We will be announcing the rescheduled date soon.”
The show postponement comes a year after her mother, Mary, underwent life-saving heart surgery in April, 2013. She subsequently spent the next few months in and out of hospital battling various ailments, including a bout of pneumonia last summer.
