Angelina Jolie has extended her summer goodwill mission by flying to Haiti to visit children who were left homeless by the devastating January earthquake.
The Tomb Raider star travelled to the SOS Children’s Village in Santo, Haiti, where nearly 500 youngsters have been housed following the tremor, which left thousands of Haitians without anywhere to live.

Jolie, who has been a United Nations (U.N.) Goodwill Ambassador since 2001, brought toys to the kids and even spent the night in a SOS house.

She says, “That is why I like to visit and support the SOS Children’s Villages in the world – because I have seen that the children are growing up in a safe and loving environment.”

Jolie’s trip to Haiti came just hours after she wrapped up a humanitarian stop on the Ecuadorian boarder with Colombia, where she met with villagers who have been forced to flee their homes due to conflicts in the South American region.
