Nick Jonas is proving his love of musicals with a lead role in a new theater production of Hairspray.
The Jonas Brothers singer appeared in the West End run of Les Miserables last year, and now he’s accepted a role in the upcoming Hollywood Bowl showing of Hairspray, alongside stars including John Stamos, Darlene Love and Corbin Bleu.

Jonas will play teen idol Link Larkin, the character Zac Efron portrayed in the hit 2007 movie adaptation.

In a post on his Twitter.com page, Jonas writes, “I am so excited to play Link Larkin in Hairspray at the Hollywood Bowl in August. Who’s gonna come?”

The production will run from 5 to 7 August.
