Mexican superstar Juan Gabriel has been hospitalized in Las Vegas after falling ill with pneumonia.
The singer, 64, began feeling ill following a concert in Sin City on Sunday and was admitted to an intensive care unit on Monday after waking up with a fever and congestion.
His representative reveals Gabriel is in a “delicate” state and will remain under doctors’ care for a total of eight days.
As a result, the star has been forced to postpone his Wednesday and Thursday shows in Los Angeles and a Saturday gig in San Jose, California.
However, he has reached out to fans on Twitter.com to assure them he will be fine.
His message, written in Spanish, translates as, “All is well! No need to worry, you just have to be careful! Thanks for all your messages and good wishes”.
Gabriel is expected to resume his Volver tour in Los Angeles on 1 May, while new dates for the rescheduled gigs have yet to be announced.
