Justin Bieber’s DUI case has been postponed again at the request of lawyers for both the pop superstar and Florida prosecutors.
The Baby hitmaker stands accused of resisting arrest and driving under the influence (DUI) after he was caught drag racing with a pal in Miami Beach in January.
The case was expected to go to trial this summer, but the two sides have been trying to work out a plea deal for the past few weeks, and at a brief hearing on 16 July, they were granted an additional three weeks to secure an agreement.
They returned to Miami-Dade County Court on Tuesday, when they were again given extra time to work on the case.
A hearing to determine whether Bieber will be tried on the misdemeanor charges has now been scheduled for next Wednesday.
The 20 year old, who was not in court on Tuesday, has pleaded not guilty to the counts.
The singer is currently on probation after pleading no contest to misdemeanor vandalism in July following an egging incident on a California neighbor’s home earlier this year.
He is also facing prosecution in Canada amid allegations he lashed out at a limousine driver in December, and he is still fighting an assault lawsuit filed against him by a paparazzo in Miami following an altercation last summer.
