Reclusive singer Kate Bush is to return to the live music scene after 35 years by playing a residency in London.
The Wuthering Heights star, who has not toured since 1979 and has only made sporadic one-off performances since, will play a 15-show residency at the Hammersmith Apollo venue in the British capital throughout August and September.
A statement posted on the singer’s website reads, “I am delighted to announce that we will be performing some live shows this coming August and September. I hope you will be able to join us and I look forward to seeing you there… Very best wishes, Kate.”
Bush has previously insisted she had no plans to return to the stage, saying in 2011, “People always presume I didn’t enjoy that (last) tour in 1979. I did enjoy it. (But) I haven’t got any plans to do any live shows whatsoever.”
