Katie Holmes’ lawyer has criticized fathers’ rights activists in the U.K. for targeting the actress in a new campaign, branding the advert “offensive”.
The Batman Begins star, who has a seven-year-old daughter with ex-husband Tom Cruise, was one of a number of female stars featured in a new advertising drive by the Fathers4justice group.
The poster featuring Holmes has a picture of the star captioned, “Katie, do you believe in equal parents, equal love?” and the actress’ lawyer Jonathan Wolfe has now released a statement condemning the advert.
He tells Britain’s Mail on Sunday newspaper, “The campaign is baseless and offensive. Katie will continue to have no comment on personal and private matters that affect her family.”
Other stars targeted in the campaign include Halle Berry, Kim Basinger and Kate Winslet, who has threatened to take legal action over the poster featuring her image, which her lawyers have called “misleading and seriously defamatory”.
