Lindsay Lohan is on the brink of pleading ‘no contest’ to allegations she stole a necklace – so she can put the case behind her and re-launch her movie career, according to a new report.
The Mean Girls actress is accused of stealing the item from a jewelry store in Los Angeles in January, and is facing the likelihood of a jail sentence as she was on probation stemming from a DUI arrest in 2007 at the time of the incident.

Now the New York Daily News reports Lohan is resigned to serving prison time and is considering pleading no contest to the theft charge in order to keep the sentence as short as possible so she can get her life back on track.

Her mother, Dina, tells the publication, “Lindsay is up for a couple of film roles, and we want this behind us the quickest way possible.”
