Lindsay Lohan’s lawyer has cast doubt on the star’s claims she did “nothing” to trigger her booze-monitoring ankle bracelet on Sunday after an official report “indicated the presence of a small amount of alcohol”.
The Mean Girls star was ordered to wear the anklet last month after missing probation hearings related to drug and drink-driving arrests.
The device reportedly began flashing during an MTV Movie Awards afterparty in Los Angeles, and Judge Marsha Revel issued a bench warrant for Lohan’s arrest.
It was subsequently recalled after Lohan’s representative, David Perez, put down $20,000 towards her $200,000 bail and the actress denied doing anything to trigger the gadget.
But Lohan’s lawyer, Shawn Chapman Holley, has revealed official tests show the 23 year old had been in contact with alcohol.
He tells TMZ.com that Lohan’s SCRAM bracelet “indicated the presence of a small amount of alcohol on Sunday night”, adding: “Having just received the report, I am not in a position to speak to its accuracy or validity. However, Ms. Lohan maintains that she has been in complete compliance with all of the terms of her probation and her bail.”
A status hearing for Lohan is scheduled for 6 July.
