Singer Mary J. Blige’s money woes have gone from bad to worse after authorities slapped her with a new $3.4 million tax bill.
Internal Revenue Service (IRS) officials have filed a federal tax lien against the R&B star for income taxes she allegedly failed to pay from 2009 to 2011, reports TMZ.com.
The IRS lawsuit is on top of the $900,000 Blige is accused of owing the state of New Jersey in back taxes.
Blige’s financial problems don’t end there – in February, she was sued for allegedly defaulting on a $500,000 bank loan, and lawyers for Signature Bank took legal action against the star last summer over claims she failed to make good on a $2.2 million payout.
