Mary J. Blige will help to welcome British rock icons the Rolling Stones to her native New York on Saturday by joining them onstage for their first 50th anniversary gig Stateside.
The legendary band kicked off its 50 and Counting mini-trek in London on 25 November, when frontman Sir Mick Jagger teamed up with the No More Drama hitmaker to perform the track Gimme Shelter.
Now the Stones are set to delight their U.S. fans with the same collaboration after inviting Blige to hit the stage with them once again when their tour touches down in the Big Apple.
Rising rocker Gary Clark, Jr. will also join the group at the weekend gig at Brooklyn’s Barclays Center.
The Rolling Stones have not been short of special guests for their comeback shows – Blige, singer Florence Welch and guitar greats Eric Clapton and Jeff Beck were all part of the bill for the two London concerts, while former bandmates Bill Wyman and Mick Taylor jammed with the Jagger, Keith Richards, Ronnie Wood and Charlie Watts for the first time in 20 years.
The Brown Sugar rockers will wrap up their live shows with two dates in New Jersey later this month.
