Aretha Franklin will make her first public appearance since announcing her engagement when she performs at the BET Honors show in Washington, D.C. next week.
The Queen of Soul will join Patti LaBelle and Common onstage at the event, which will honor the talents of Mariah Carey, Maya Angelou, Stevie Wonder and Spike Lee among others as part of Black History Month.

Gabrielle Union will host the show for a fourth time.

Franklin is making plans to wed for a third time after revealing her longtime companion William Wilkerson proposed to her late last year.
