Pharrell Williams has continued his winning streak in the U.K. charts by scoring his first number one album.
G I R L debuted at the top with sales of nearly 70,000 units, making it the fastest-selling project of the year so far.
Ellie Goulding’s Halcyon climbed to two, while last week’s bestseller, Bad Blood by rockers Bastille, fell to three.
However, singer and superproducer Williams wasn’t able to make it a double victory – his Oscar-nominated track Happy slipped to number two on the U.K. singles chart after being replaced by British DJ Route 94′s tune My Love, featuring Jess Glynne, who also collaborated with third-placed electronic group Clean Bandit on their former chart-topper, Rather Be.
