Jailed music mogul Phil Spector has been moved to a prison dedicated to the treatment of inmates with long-term health issues.
The pioneering producer, who is serving 19-years-to-life for shooting actress Lana Clarkson dead at his California home in 2003, has been transferred to the California Health Care Facility in Stockton.
Since his conviction in 2009, he had been incarcerated at the California State Prison in Corcoran.
It is not known when Spector was transferred, but in an interview published in July last year his daughter Nicole told how he was struggling to cope with the conditions at Corcoran and appeared to be wasting away after losing his appetite.
A prison facilities website lists the California Health Care Facility as providing “medical care and mental health treatment to inmates who have the most severe and long-term needs”.
