Michael Des Barres has turned to police for help in tracking down an overzealous fan who has allegedly been bombarding the Macgyver star with death threats.
The rocker and actor, who played the villain Murdoc on the iconic 1980s action adventure series, began receiving the messages from a fellow Facebook.com user last November, and sent her “short positive responses wishing her well” after the fan claimed to be sick.
However, the notes eventually became menacing, prompting Des Barres to block the devotee, only for her to set up new accounts under different names to continue the alleged verbal abuse.
According to legal documents obtained by TMZ.com, one of the threatening messages read, “I’m going to cut your throat a**hole”, while in another, she is said to have written, “They’re going to f**king kill you, you are all f**ked, your (sic) all in danger your ex, parents and child.”
The messages were handed in to Los Angeles Police Department officers in the Threat Management Unit, who have since obtained search warrants in an effort to comb through Twitter and Facebook records to find the suspect.
