Legendary music producer Quincy Jones has been excused from testifying in an ongoing court battle between Girls Gone Wild founder Joe Francis and casino boss Steve Wynn.
Lawyers for Wynn called Jones to take the stand in an upcoming trial over allegations the Las Vegas gambling mogul threatened Francis in an email.
According to Francis, he showed the correspondence to the producer, who is his neighbour.
However, the 79 year old has been relieved of duty on medical grounds by Los Angeles Superior Court Judge Joanne O’Donnell following a declaration by his doctor.
Wynn denies he made any threats and is suing Francis for damage to his reputation and emotional distress.
It is the latest in a long line of legal wrangling between the pair, who first headed to court in 2009 over a $2 million gambling debt the soft porn boss allegedly owed.
