The Kinks rocker Ray Davies has been rocked by tragedy again following the death of his sister Rosie just weeks after he lost his elder sibling Joyce.
The veteran musician missed his induction into the Songwriters Hall of Fame last month following Joyce’s death, and he is now mourning the loss of his other sister, who inspired the band’s 1966 song Rosie Won’t You Please Come Home.
Rosie passed away on 2 July and the sad news was confirmed in a post on Davies’ Facebook.com page.
The message reads, “Ray has sadly just lost his sister Rosie… Our thoughts are with him and his family.”
Davies is believed to have written the song about his sister after she moved from Britain to Australia with her husband.
