Hip-hop stars Rihanna and 50 Cent have teamed up to help a struggling couple save its ailing baby daughter.
One-year-old Ayelet Galena suffers from a rare life-threatening congenital disorder and is in need of a bone marrow transplant in order to survive.

Rihanna and the rapper were so touched by the young girl’s plight, they immediately signed up for a blood test – to determine if they could be donors – and the two stars have called on their fans to follow suit

The Umbrella hitmaker recently took to her Twitter.com account and wrote, “Can you help me find a lifesaver for baby Ayelet and other patients? Get swabbed (tested) because maybe YOU can save a life!”

Gossip Girl actress Leighton Meester, rapper Pharrell Williams and rock band Linkin Park have also lent their star power to the campaign to save the little girl.

It’s not the first time Rihanna has led a campaign to save a sick girl’s life – she offered her support to leukemia sufferer Jasmina Anema throughout 2009.

The six-year-old Manhattan girl, who also captured the heart of President Barack Obama, died last year.

Following her passing, Rihanna released a statement, saying, “I am incredibly heartbroken that Jasmina has passed away. She was such a brave and special child. She showed me more strength and spirit that many adults I have met. I feel blessed that I was able to have her in my life and know that through her example, she has saved many lives. She was truly an angel on earth.”

Jasmina received a bone-marrow transplant in 2009 but died in hospital after she was diagnosed with pneumonia in both lungs.
