The Big Bang Theory star Simon Helberg is set to become a new dad later this year.
The actor’s wife, Jocelyn Towne, showed off her growing baby bump on the red carpet at the Screen Actors Guild Awards on Saturday – two years after making a similar appearance when she was expecting their first child, daughter Adeline, who was born in May, 2012.
Joking about the pregnancy with news show Entertainment Tonight, Helberg quipped, “Every time I come to the SAG Awards… there’s something about this night… About eight months before (the SAG Awards) I get really the urge, I feel the romance and then we get nominated so it’s hand in hand.”
Helberg, who wed Towne in 2007, was nominated at this weekend’s SAG Awards as part of The Big Bang Theory cast, which was shortlisted for Outstanding Performance by an Ensemble in a Comedy Series. The honor went to Modern Family.
Towne wasn’t the only female to embrace her pregnancy figure on the red carpet on Saturday – Kerry Washington made a brave fashion statement by baring her baby belly in a glittery pink crop-top. The Django Unchained star, who will become a first-time mom later this year, was at the event to present Julia Louis-Dreyfus with a Best Actress (Comedy) award.
