Sweden’s Princess Madeleine Gives Birth

Princess Madeleine of Sweden has become a mother after giving birth to her first child on Thursday.
The European royal, who is fourth in line to the country’s throne, welcomed a daughter along with her husband, banker Christopher O’Neill, at a hospital in New York City.
A spokesman for the Swedish royal family says, “The Office of the Marshal of the Realm is delighted to announce that H.R.H. Princess Madeleine gave birth to a daughter on Feb. 20, 2014, at 10.41pm local time New York. Both mother and child are in good health.”
The princess wed O’Neill in Stockholm, Sweden last June.
