Twilight fans voiced their anger at the absence of the franchise’s stars from the London premiere of the latest vampire movie – sporting specially-made t-shirts and holding up banners to protest the snub.

British devotees were left fuming last month when movie bosses revealed the film’s main cast members – Robert Pattinson, Kristen Stewart and Taylor Lautner – would not be in Britain for the launch of The Twilight Saga: Eclipse on 1 July.

No official reason was given for the stars’ absence and the premiere went ahead without the three actors, who filmed a video message for their followers instead.

But fans, who camped out for nearly two days ahead of the event, took the opportunity to protest the snub, with many lining the red carpet wearing t-shirts sporting the slogan ‘Robbed!’ in reference to Pattinson’s decision not to attend.

A string of Twilight’s less high-profile stars did walk the red carpet, including Kellan Lutz, Ashley Greene and Nikki Reed, who told reporters Pattinson was unable to fly to London because he’s busy filming new movie Water for Elephants in California.

She says, “I know Rob would have loved to have been here, but he’s shooting a movie in L.A. and I don’t think he was allowed to come.”
