Rapper Tyler The Creator refused to let an arrest in Texas disrupt his concert plans on Saturday – hours after his detention in Austin, he was onstage in Dallas.
The Odd Future star was apprehended at an Austin-area airport and charged with inciting a riot after he was caught on camera urging fans outside a sold out South by Southwest festival concert on Thursday night to push past barriers and security to gain access to the Scoot Inn.
The rapper, real name Tyler Gregory Okonma, was released on bail and headed straight for a sold-out House of Blues gig in Dallas.
Video of Tyler inciting the crowd has been posted online. Police reports suggest the chaos escalated quickly and one bartender had to protect a woman from injury as fans attempted to barge their way into the Scoot Inn.
The incident took place 24 hours after Tyler The Creator’s Wednesday night gig at South by Southwest was cancelled following a fatal car crash outside the venue.
