Media mogul Oprah Winfrey has been slapped with a trademark infringement suit over her use of the catchphrase, “Own Your Power”.
Own Your Power Communications, Inc. CEO Simone Kelly-Brown insists she came up with the acronym OYP, or Own Your Power, according to court papers filed in New Jersey on Thursday.

Kelly-Brown also claims to have registered to obtain exclusive ownership of the motivational slogan at the Patent and Trademark Office.

Winfrey is being sued for unspecified damages.

A spokesperson for Winfrey’s Harpo Productions tells EW.com, “Harpo has not been served and we have no information about what allegations are being made.”
