Rapper Wiz Khalifa is a free man after spending time in a Texas jail following an arrest for marijuana possession on Sunday.
The Black and Yellow hitmaker was stopped at an inspection checkpoint at an airport in El Paso for travelling without identification, according to a statement from local police.
Khalifa and his belongings were subsequently searched, and Transportation Security Administration agents found a canister containing .5 grams of marijuana.
The El Paso police arrested the hip-hop star and charged him with misdemeanour possession of marijuana, and he spent hours in jail, during which he sent a series of mysterious tweets and even a ‘selfie’ from what appeared to be a holding cell.
He was released after posting $300 bail, and later posted a photo of himself on Instagram.com finally boarding his private plane, along with the caption “Bacc (sic) to da trap.”
Khalifa was in El Paso to headline the Neon Desert music festival, and was on his way to perform at Minnesota’s 2014 Soundset music festival on Sunday when he was taken into custody.
