One Direction star Zayn Malik has received death threats from fans for posting a message online in support of Palestinians.
Malik is the latest celebrity to face a backlash for voicing his opinion on the growing conflict in the Middle East, following in the footsteps of Rihanna and Selena Gomez, who also got in trouble with fans.
The singer posted the ‘#FreePalestine’ hashtag on Twitter.com on Sunday, which instantly sparked outrage amongst many Israeli fans, who posted death threats to the star, telling him to “kill himself” and threatening: “Let me kill you.”
One user wrote, “Zayn should (not) say what he said I mean if we’re such a terrorists like he said why wouldn’t we kill him for saying that huh (sic).”
Malik has not responded to the comments but the post is still on his page.
