Rapper 2 Chainz is continuing to deny reports suggesting he was the victim of an armed robbery in San Francisco, California on Sunday as police issue conflicting statements about the incident.
The Spend It hitmaker and his entourage were allegedly confronted by three men who demanded the hip-hop star hand over his cell phone and wallet. Shots were reportedly fired during the altercation and all three suspects managed to make a quick getaway, according to Sergeant Dennis Toomer.
However, a spokesperson for the San Francisco Police Department claims a friend of 2 Chainz’s was the actual victim.
The representative tells Radio.com, “He was not the victim of a robbery. He was there, but he wasn’t the victim.”
Meanwhile, 2 Chainz himself, real name Tauheed Epps, has been disputing the whole story via his Twitter.com account, initially suggesting the reports were all wrong by writing, “Haha yal (sic) believe anything.”
He has since expanded on his comments and now appears to suggest that there was no armed robbery at all – claiming he and his pals simply got high smoking marijuana before his performance at the Oakland Summer Jam concert.
In a series of tweets on Monday, he writes, “Rule #1 if a rapper gets robbed people usually post (photos of) items that has (sic) been taken. Rings, chains, watch, money etc. Rule #2 if a rapper gets shot he usually go to hospital or dies. Rule #3 we definitely got geeked up (high) in San Fran, best smoke in the world. 2 blessed 2 stress.”
