Actor Mark Blum Dies From Coronavirus Complications

Crocodile Dundee star Mark Blum has died from coronavirus complications.
The 69 year old, who also appeared in Madonna’s 1985 movie Desperately Seeking Susan, Netflix hit You and TV dramas The Good Fight and St. Elsewhere, was a veteran character actor and beloved fixture on the American theater scene.
A spokesman for New York theater troupe Playwrights Horizons shared the new of Blum’s death on social media, writing: “With love and heavy hearts, Playwrights Horizons pays tribute to Mark Blum, a dear longtime friend and a consummate artist who passed this week. Thank you, Mark, for all you brought to our theater, and to theaters and audiences across the world. We will miss you.”
His Desperately Seeking Susan castmate Rosanna Arquette, who played his wife in the film, has paid tribute to Blum in a statement to TheWrap, which reads: “I’m sad about this. He was really very kind, was always supportive and funny, a gentle man and a great actor who loved the work. I’m so sad for his family and all the people who love him. This is a tragedy on so many levels. Rest in peace and power Mark Blum.”
Cynthia Nixon has also been left heartbroken by the loss: “I am so devastated by Mark Blum’s passing,” she posted on Twitter.
“His performances in the dozens of plays I saw him in were unfailingly deep, subtle, hilarious and moving in equal measure. Seeing his name in the Playbill always meant you were in for a treat. Also just one of the loveliest humans ever.”
