Adele is back at the top of the U.S. pop charts with the song she performed at the MTV Video Music Awards last month.
Someone Like You has shot up the Billboard Hot 100 from 19 to one, thanks to 275,000 digital downloads.

It’s the British soul star’s second number one of the year – Rolling in the Deep spent seven weeks at the top of the charts this summer.

Last week’s number one, Maroon 5’s Moves Like Jagger, drops a spot to two on the new countdown, while Foster the People’s Pumped Up Kicks stays put at three.

Meanwhile, Lady Gaga scores her 11th top 10 hit with You and I at six.

The week’s highest new entry belongs to Lil Wayne, who debuts eight new tracks on the chart – Mirror, featuring Bruno Mars, rockets into the countdown at 16.
