Security fears have forced Aerosmith to axe a gig in Jakarta on Saturday after police officials announced the arrest of two suspected militants, who had allegedly plotted to bomb an embassy in Indonesia’s capital city.
The Walk This Way hitmakers are scheduled to appear at the Jakarta International Expo in Kemayoran but they have cancelled the show after news surfaced about the alleged attack on the Burma embassy.
The rockers cancelled the show on Saturday, a day after the arrest announcements were made, according to a spokesman for event organisers Ismaya Live.
A statement from the band on the event organisers’ website reads: “Unfortunately, we have to cancel our upcoming show in Jakarta. We want to apologize to all our fans who were expecting to see us and hope that one day we can make it up to them.”
