Aerosmith are finally heading back into the studio in July to work on the band’s long-delayed new album.
Guitarist Joe Perry fell out with frontman Steven Tyler when he decided to take a hiatus from the band in 2009. The duo made amends and started to write new material together, but their friendship hit the rocks again when Tyler joined the American Idol judging panel last year.

The outlandish star’s stint on the TV talent show came to an end at the Idol finale last month and now Tyler is ready to return to his day job in Aerosmith next month.

The rockers have recruited their longtime producer Jack Douglas to help them make a start on their first studio album in seven years.

In a post on, Perry writes, “Whole band has plans to go into the studio with Jack Douglas second week of July to work on new Aero CD.”
